Can you use a vacuum pump with penile injections (Trimix)?

What if you’re only getting 5/10 results with Trimix or Caverject?

Here’s the truth - most men with ED after prostate surgery will not get 10/10 success with any erection aid on the first go.

This can be frustrating. You feel engorgement, but not enough hardness.

In this situation, my clients often find a ‘recipe’ approach helps. This is where you use a few tools and techniques together, rather than just relying on the injection formula alone.

In fact, one clinical study from 1995 (an oldy but a goody) found that men who didn’t get sufficient erections with either a vacuum pump or penile injections on their own, experienced excellent results when the two were combined (Chen and colleagues, 1995)

3 ways you can combine a vacuum pump with injections for 10/10 results

  1. Pump after injecting.

I contacted Tim Stewart (ED pharmacy wizard) for his thoughts on using a vacuum device after injecting:

“It is absolutely fine to use a pump post-injecting and can be helpful for some.

First, give a good firm massage (right from the pelvis all the way up to the glans) for 10-15 minutes after the injection to distribute the medication and get the blood pumping.

Then, apply the pump (to boost results).” (Tim Stewart, Canberra based pharmacist/injection therapist).

2. Use the pump daily.

If you experience pain after injecting, this could be the formula you are using, or your penile tissue/blood vessels may need some ‘exercise’.

Remember - after prostate surgery while your erection nerves are in recovery, you do not experience nocturnal erections, so you are not getting that habitual stretching/conditioning every night.

It is safe to use a vacuum pump daily, and this can help prepare the penile blood vessels for the stretching caused by penile injections.

3. Pump before injections

If you’re pumping daily - sort of like jogging/walking regularly to keep your leg muscles in best condition - then the same logic applies to giving yourself a couple of pumps pre-injecting. A warm-up before the sprint.

Alan White includes this during his injection process - you can learn how he has created a fun, effective injection routine here.
